The Neutron and X-ray Scattering Group of the Materials Science Division
at Argonne National Laboratory is seeking candidates for two
postdoctoral
positions in neutron powder diffraction. The areas of research are
layered manganite materials that exhibit colossal magnetoresistance and
high
temperature superconductivity. Preference will be given to candidates
who
have a combination of experience in synthesis, characterization, and
neutron
and x-ray diffraction. Demonstrated experience with Rietveld refinement
methods and powder diffraction at a pulsed neutron source is desirable.
For the work on manganite materials, background in magnetism is
desirable.
Candidates must have received a Ph.D. in physics, chemistry, or a
similar
discipline within the last three years. Interested persons should
submit
a resume to James D. Jorgensen, Materials Science Division, Building
223,
Argonne National Laboratory, Argonne, IL 60439. Phone 630-252-5513; FAX
630-252-7777; e-mail JJorgensen at ANL.GOV. Argonne National Laboratory is
an Equal Opportunity employer.
