Dear Friends and Colleagues;

As you may know, Malcolm Collins will be making the transition to
Professor Emeritus this upcoming July.  McMaster University is sponsoring
a symposium, entitled Malcolm Collins: A Career in Neutron Scattering,
in honour of his distinguished career in teaching and research.  The
symposium, described below, will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2001 at the
Ewart Angus Centre, Room 1A5, of the McMaster University Medical Centre.
It will feature a day of presentations from some of Malcolm's former
students, postdoctoral fellows, and collaborators, on topics related to
the past, present, and future of neutron scattering and materials
research.

Speakers will include:

Bruce Gaulin    (McMaster)
Michel Gingras  (Waterloo)
Tom Holden      (AECL/Los Alamos National Laboratory)
Andrew Harrison (Edinburgh)

Eric Svensson   (NRC, Chalk River)


A group lunch at the Blue Room of the MUMC cafeteria is available
at a cost of $12/person.

There will also be a reception (with cash bar) and banquet
that evening at "The Coach House" of Dundurn Castle in Hamilton.
Tickets for the dinner are $35 each ($12 for the children's menu)
