INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE on Polarised Neutrons and Synchrotron X-rays for
Magnetism (PNSXM 2003). Aug. 4-7, 2003. Venice, Italy.
FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT and CALL for ABSTRACTS
A satellite of the International Conference of Magnetism in Rome, ICM-2003,
This meeting will provide a venue for presentations on the latest advances
in the application to selected topics of the many and complementary
techniques based on polarised neutron and X-ray scattering. The program,
structured in invited lectures, oral and poster presentations, will
highlight broad unifying themes in the physics of f-electron systems,
d-electron systems and low dimensional magnetic systems. Proceedings will be
published in Physica B.
The range of topics will cover:
- orbital and spin magnetisation densities in itinerant systems
- orbital order in perovskites and transition metal oxides
- magnetic order in thin films, multilayers and superlattices
- electron correlation effects in f-d intermetallic systems
- inter-atomic coupling and superexchange in rare-earth insulators
- molecular magnetism
- magnetic fluctuations and excitations in highly correlated electron -
systems
- non-collinear magnetic structures
- experimental methods and technology.
Conference deadlines and other general information will be available at the
conference website,
http://venice.infm.it (PLEASE, note the absence of the www prefix).
Please note that the abstract due date is February 1, 2003, and that
abstract submission will be fully electronic via the above website.
Also please note that there will be no announcements by regular mail, only
e-mailings and posted website announcements.
We look forward to seeing you in Venice
Sincerely,
Roberto Caciuffo and Massimo Altarelli, conference co-chairs.
