Summer School on Methods and Applications of Neutron Spectroscopy
NIST Center for Neutron Research
Gaithersburg, MD

June 9-13, 2003
Application Deadline, April 14, 2003

The high resolution inelastic neutron scattering instruments at the NIST
Center for Neutron Research will be the focus of the ninth annual
NCNR/NSF-sponsored summer school on neutron scattering. This week long
course will provide participants with a basic understanding of the
fundamental concepts and methodology along with training in the use of
the triple-axis, time-of-flight, neutron-spin-echo, and backscattering
facilities at the NCNR. Applications of the techniques will be
illustrated by specific examples drawn from recent research in polymer
science, magnetic disordered materials, and quantum rotations in small
molecules. The workshop will be sponsored in part by the National
Science Foundation, and support for graduate students and junior faculty
will be available. Attendance will be limited
