LAST CHANCE TO SUBMIT ABSTRACTS
DEADLINE END OF APRIL 2003

MECA-SENS: Stress Evaluation by Neutron and Synchrotron Radiation 8-9
September 2003 Manchester, UK www.mecasens.org <www.mecasens.org>

This congress is the second in a series of international conferences on
Stress Evaluation by Neutron and Synchrotron radiation. The goal of each
Meca-Sens conference is to bring together scientists from the academic world
and from industry to address specific topics within the field of stress
measurement using neutron and X - ray synchrotron radiation.

See website for details of abstract submission.

Financial support available for students.

MAIN TOPICS:
1) Recent progress in experimental methods for stress measurement using
neutrons and synchrotron radiation
2) Application of the neutron and synchrotron methods to materials science
and engineering
3) Impact of residual stress on component behaviour (structural integrity
assessments)
4) a) Modelling of stresses
   b) Modelling of instrumentation
5) Comparison with other experimental methods

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS:
Dr. D. Haeffner (Adv. Photon Soruce, USA)
New Opportunities for Strain Measurements Using High-Energy X-rays

Dr. Ch. Genzel (Hahn-Meitner Institute, Germany)
