We are pleased to announce the launching of the new Nanopolis portal at www.nanopolis.net.
Nanopolis offers valuable resources of today's knowledge of the most recent physics, methods and technologies at the atomic scale in direct connection with the head R&D figures from all over the world.
It is conceived for a worldwide audience of students, scientists and industrialists. Industry finds innovation in the new discoveries of research laboratories, instantly realizing its potential applications and profitability. Students have a grasp of real research activities and can quickly absorb much more information, with a clearer meaning. Scientists in turn, find the required funding, the materials and instruments they need in a direct link with industrial development.
The scientific content of Nanopolis is "gathered" in real-time due to a close partnership with the scientific community. This content is projected in different spheres of interest according to several principles:
* information is presented via multimedia representations like 2D and 3D computer-generated images and animations
* each topic is integrated within conceptual chains. E.g.: Atomic Force Microscopy -> Carbon nanotubes -> CNT Applications: nanotransistors
* each subject can be regarded from several different perspectives: scientific developments, economical relevance and technical maturity, societal impact, etc.
Over one hundred topics are already published on Nanopolis, covering the three main techniques for matter exploration at the atomic scale: synchrotron light, neutrons and nanotechnologies.
