Post-Doctoral Position in Single-Crystal Neutron Diffraction
Argonne National Laboratory
The Intense Pulsed Neutron Source Division, Argonne National Laboratory, has an opening for a postdoctoral research associate. Candidates should have a Ph.D. awarded within the last 3 years in chemistry, physics, or materials science with a strong background in single-crystal X-ray or neutron crystallography. Postdoctoral positions at Argonne are for one year increments, renewable up to three years. The research associate will be a member of the Instrument Development Team (IDT) that is responsible for development of the single-crystal diffractometer for the Spallation Neutron Source (SNS) under construction in Oak Ridge. The successful candidate will work on development of research themes in small-molecule crystallography that are expected to form the core of the SNS IDT's future research program. These research themes may include metal hydrides and σ complexes, hydrogen-bonded crystals, magnetism, disordered systems, and parametric studies of structure as a function of temperature and pressure.
We welcome applications from candidates who can contribute to our EEO/Affirmative Action goals. Interested candidates should submit a curriculum vitae, the names and addresses of three references, and a possible statement of research interests to:
