Department of Magnetism
Postdoc position
(Physicist, Chemist, Mineralogist)

We invite applications for a postdoctoral position in the Berlin Neutron
Scattering Centre BENSC at the Hahn-Meitner-Institut Berlin, Germany.
The Hahn-Meitner-Institut is a German National Laboratory and a member
of the Hermann von Helmholtz Association of National Research Centres
and has about 800 employees. It hosts the Berlin Neutron Scattering
Center (BENSC) (http://www.hmi.de/bensc/), a user facility open to
scientists from all over the world. To probe the structure and dynamics
of solids and liquids, BENSC provides the national and international
research community with state-of-the-art neutron scattering equipment
and expertise.

The successful candidate will support the development of instrumentation
at BENSC (see http://www.hmi.de/bensc/) by using computer simulations. A
good knowledge in programming, experience in Monte Carlo techniques, and
a background in neutron or x-ray diffraction techniques is necessary.
The position includes taking part in the research program of the
department which focuses on major activities in quantum magnetism and
novel magnetic oxides. Staff at BENSC have access to 30% of the beamtime
on all neutron scattering instruments for their own research.

The appointment is for 3 years, and the salary is according to the
tariff system TVöD. Applicants should send a letter of application, a
detailed CV, two academic references, a list of publications and copies
of degrees to Hahn-Meitner-Institut Berlin, Abt. Personal und Soziales,
