Salary range $91K to $96K (plus 15.4% Super)
 
ANSTO is one of Australia's foremost scientific research and development
organisations, focused on delivering the benefits of nuclear science to
the Australian community.
 
Bragg Institute is an international leader in Neutron Beam Science,
recognised for the excellence of its scientific endeavours, its
facilities, its techniques and its people. The Bragg Institute was
established in 2002, with the explicit intent of fostering strong
interactions with academic and commercial research organisations both
within Australia and overseas.
 
We are currently seeking a Scientific Coordinator to join The Bragg
Institute.  Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible
for the management of the Bragg Institute User Office and its associated
staff.  You will manage the proposal system, including coordinating
reviewing, meetings and operation of the Proposal Assessment Committee
and outreach and promotion activities.  The successful candidate will
also have to work with the Australian scientific community to develop
and maintain the user base for the neutron scattering instruments at
OPAL.
 
To be successful in this position, you will need a PhD in Physics,
Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering or related area.  You will
have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, experience in
computing/IT, including databases, and a demonstrated ability to work
both independently and in teams.  Experience at a major neutron
scattering or synchrotron x-ray user facility would be an advantage.
Research opportunities may also be available for suitable candidates.
 
To be eligible for appointment, applicants will require a security and
medical assessment and must be Australian citizens.
