POST-DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP

COOPERATIVE RESEARCH CENTRE FOR POLYMERS

The Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) for Polymers is part of the
Australian Government's program to promote collaborative research in
high priority areas of science and engineering. It focuses on research
to deliver the technically advanced polymeric materials and polymer
engineering required to transform Australian industries and to establish
and expand companies in emerging high-growth areas of the economy.
Applications are sought for a CRC funded position as a post-doctoral
researcher based within the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology
Organisation. The role will focus on characterisation of polymers using
small angle scattering.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in the use of
characterisation techniques such as small angle neutron/X ray scattering
or reflectometry together with research experience relevant to a CRC
program which include (a) biomedical polymers (b) advanced polymeric
materials and (c) polymers for sustainable development. Experience in
complementary techniques in physical or structural analysis would be
advantageous. You will also need to have excellent communication and
presentation skills and the ability to work well as part of a team based
across multiple sites. A capacity to show initiative and work
independently when necessary is also highly regarded. Your appointment
will be for 2 years at an initial salary of $69,441 ($72,358 from Jan
2010). To be eligible for engagement, applicants will require a medical
