Special Note: Many of you may be concerned with the ramifications of the
Continuing Resolution (CR). We want to assure you that LANSCE - Lujan Center
intends to operate the user program as scheduled, starting in June 2011 and
continuing through February 2012 (covers two proposal calls). You are thus
urged to submit proposals on the assumption that Lujan Center will be
operating its full schedule. Likewise if you have concerns about effect of
the CR on your own funding we still urge you to submit your regular
proposals. We will do everything possible to adjust the experiment schedule
to accommodate funding issues.

Los Alamos Neutron Science Center

1st Call for Lujan Neutron Scattering Center Proposals

for Run Cycle Beginning in June 2011

You are invited to submit a proposal to apply for beam time at the Los
Alamos Neutron Science Center (LANSCE) Lujan Neutron Scattering Center, for
the run cycle scheduled to begin in June 2011.

The deadline for submitting the proposals is 6:00 p.m. (18:00) Mountain
Standard Time, Wednesday, March 16, 2011. Any proposals submitted after the
due date will not be reviewed by the Program Advisory Committees and must be
resubmitted for the following run cycle or as an out-of-cycle, fast access
proposal.

Successful proposals will be scheduled during the period June through
September 2011. Fast access proposals will be accepted throughout, but
require compelling evidence of sufficient scientific urgency to justify
scheduling.

LANSCE-Lujan Center will have a second call for proposals in June and
notifications will be sent of the start date.

Instruments/flight paths available in the current call for proposals are:
