Macquarie University and the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology
Organisation (ANSTO) have created this exciting collaborative
opportunity for a research associate to work with staff at the Bragg
Institute and Macquarie. The goal is to develop complementary high
pressure, large-volume experimental facilities at both the Australian
Synchrotron and the OPAL research. We are looking for a research
associate (Lecturer, Level B) with expertise in high-pressure
experimental studies to work on Earth materials under high-pressure and
high-temperature conditions and to participate in core and collaborative
research with the ANSTO neutron scattering and Australian Synchrotron
facilities.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and self-directed
individual. Experience with high-pressure experimental techniques is
required and experience in deformation studies, x-ray or neutron
diffraction, and crystallography, are all highly desirable. A PhD in
Geoscience, Materials Science, Solid State Chemistry, Physics or related
field from an accredited college or university is required. The
candidate is expected to publish his/her research results and present at
scientific conferences.
