2nd Call for Lujan Neutron Scattering Center Proposals

for Run Cycle Beginning November 1, 2011

You are invited to submit a proposal to apply for beam time at the Los
Alamos Neutron Science Center (LANSCE) Lujan Neutron Scattering Center, for
the run cycle scheduled to begin November 1, 2011. This run cycle is
extended by two months and will end at the end of February, 2012.

The deadline for submitting the proposals is 6:00 p.m. (18:00) Mountain
Standard Time, Friday, July, 8, 2011. Any proposals submitted after the due
date will not be reviewed by the Program Advisory Committees and must be
resubmitted for the following run cycle.

Successful proposals will be scheduled during the period November, 2011
through February 2012. Fast access proposals will be accepted throughout,
but require compelling evidence of sufficient scientific urgency to justify
scheduling.

You are urged to contact the instrument scientist (listed on the Lujan web
site) for questions concerning instrument capabilities, sample environments,
or proposal preparation.

The instruments available in the current call for proposals are:

1.	Polarized Beam Reflectometer/Diffractometer (Asterix)
2.	Filter Difference Spectrometer (FDS)
3.	High-Pressure Preferred Orientation Diffractometer (HIPPO)
4.	Low Q Diffractometer (LQD)
5.	Neutron Powder Diffractometer (NPDF)
6.	Protein Crystallography Station (PCS)
7.	Spectrometer for Materials Research at Temperature and Stress
(SMARTS)
8.	Surface Profile Analysis Reflectometer (SPEAR)10.

HIPD, SCD, and Pharos will be available only on a limited basis for this run
cycle. Please contact the instrument scientists for these instruments for
further details on the availability of these instruments.
