The call for nominations for new members of the SHUG Executive Committee (SHUG EC) is open. Three regular members (3 year term), and one graduate student or post-doc (2 year term) will be elected for the term starting in January 2020.
A nominee must have been a named principal investigator or team member on proposals submitted to the Neutron Sciences Directorate’s (NScD’s) Integrated Proposal Tracking System (IPTS) in the current or preceding year. SHUG EC members are expected to devote time to fulfilling their duties and responsibilities. They are expected to participate in a monthly hour-long teleconference, advocate on behalf of users and the neutron sources, and work with the ORNL neutron scattering program to organize workshops, webinars, and the annual User Meeting.
Send your candidate’s name, affiliation, and email, and a short (100–200 word) biographical sketch to the SHUG EC Vice Chair Dr. Martin Mourigal, at mourigal at gatech.edu<mailto:mourigal at gatech.edu>, by October 25, 2019. This information will be included as part of the ballot for voting by the entire SHUG community. Self-nominations are accepted. Candidate information and the link for voting will be available by November 1, 2019. Voting will be open November 1–30, 2019.
