The neutron and x-ray scattering group in the Materials Science Division at Argonne National Laboratory has an open position for a postdoctoral appointee. The research is focused on studying the influence of local disorder and short-range correlations on emerging properties in crystalline materials using elastic and inelastic neutron and x-ray scattering techniques. The focus for this position will be on projects to investigate the influence of atomic disorder, ionic correlations, and intercalation on relaxor behavior in the quantum limit, ionic transport and storage, and related topics. The candidate will also participate in other projects to study the influence of spin, charge, and lattice correlations on a range of materials of interest.
