[Neutron] Hong Kong PhD Fellowship

Established by the Research Grants Council (RGC) of Hong Kong in 2009, the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS) aims to attract the best and brightest students in the world to pursue their PhD studies in Hong Kong's universities.

The Fellowship provides an annual stipend of HK$340,800 (approximately US$43,680) and a conference and research-related travel allowance of HK$14,800 (approximately US$1,820) per year for each awardee for a period up to three years. 400 PhD Fellowships will be awarded in the 2026/27 academic year. For awardees who need more than three years to complete the PhD degree, additional support may be provided by the universities and/or the PhD supervisor. See the attached poster for more details.

We welcome potential candidates to apply through the Center of Neutron Scattering (CNS)<https://www.cityu.edu.hk/cns/index.htm> at City University of Hong Kong.  CNS was established with a vision to develop Hong Kong as an international hub for neutron scattering science. Currently, CNS consists of 6 PIs working on the following core research areas,

  *   Quantum spin systems
  *   Phase transformation and deformation in complex alloys
  *   Nanoscale structure and ionic transport in energy materials
  *   Molecular interactions in nanomedicine.
