Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee it is our great pleasure to announce and invite you to the XVI POLARIZED NEUTRONS FOR CONDENSED MATTER INVESTIGATIONS Conference (PNCMI) which will be held from the 31st of August 2026 until the 4th of September 2026 in Zaragoza, Spain.

The POLARIZED NEUTRONS FOR CONDENSED MATTER INVESTIGATIONS Conference is organized every two years as a forum for the international community using polarized neutrons to discuss recent developments and advances in all branches of science in which polarized neutrons are, or eventually could be used.  An equally important aim of the conference is to serve as a platform for discussion and exchange among those who develop new techniques using polarized neutrons. 

The Sixteen PNCMI in Zaragoza, Spain, will build on the success of previous meetings held in Dubna (1996), Grenoble (1998), Saint Petersburgh (2000), Jülich (2002), Washington DC (2004), Berlin (2006), Tokai (2008), Delft (2010), Paris (2012), Sydney (2014), Freising (2016), Didcot (2018), “on line” (2021), Annapolis (2022) and Dongguan (2025).
The Conference PNCMI 2026 will present plenary lectures by leading scientists, keynotes and invited talks, oral and poster presentations covering frontier scientific areas.  The scientific program will cover the following topics:
Magnetic chirality
Strongly correlated electron systems
Frustrated and disordered systems
Multiferroics
Quantum materials
Spin liquids
Spin densities
Magnetic susceptibilities tensors
Altermagnetism
Complex magnetic structures
Magnetic nanomaterials
Thin-films and multilayers
Soft matter
Imaging
Polarized neutrons instrumentation, techniques and methods.
But, PNCMI 2026 will not only provide fruitful scientific discussions but also a warm, collegial environment to develop lasting friendships and collaborations. We sincerely hope you will join us in Zaragoza to share your latest research, exchange ideas, and enjoy a memorable academic and cultural experience.
