ANS in the media

The news that the ANS had been removed from the President's budget, to be
replaced by a spallation neutron source, broke before this mailing list was
established, although we will try to keep up with new developments.
However, there is an informative (and mostly accurate) article on the
subject in Science (Feb 17, Vol 267 p 952) which seems to cover most of the
issues raised by the decision. The official Oak Ridge response to the news
is contained in a press release on Feb 6 which is available on the World
Wide Web for those who are interested
