EPDIC - 6,
6th EUROPEAN POWDER DIFFRACTION CONFERENCE
Budapest, Hungary August 22 - 25 1998

This conference is the sixth in the successful EPDIC series that began in
Munich, Germany in 1991. Subsequent conferences were held in Enschede (The
Netherlands, 1992), in Vienna (Austria, 1993), in Chester (UK,1995) and in
Parma (Italy, 1997).
CALL FOR PAPERS SECOND CIRCULAR
Scientific Programme
EPDIC-6 intends to cover all applied materials science aspects of condensed
matter whenever diffraction, especially powder diffraction is one of the
tools. Ten plenary lectures will mark the most up-to-date topics in the field.
KEYNOTE LECTURES
1. Structure from powder diffraction
2. Texture and powder diffraction
3. Neutrons in powder diffraction
4. line profile analysis and standards
5. Frontiers of small angle scattering
6. New developments in X-ray optics at home and at the synchrotron
7. Powder diffraction under nonambient conditions
8. Phase transition by powder diffraction
9. Strains and stresses
10. Thin films by different diffraction methods
About 24 selected oral contributions will support and supplement the keynote
lectures covering the topics listed below. As an important contribution,
extensive poster sessions will complement the main body of the conference. A
one day workshop organized by the ICDD will precede the meeting. The
Proceedings will be published by Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland as
volumes of the series Materials Science Forum.
