NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF STANDARDS AND TECHNOLOGY

The NIST Center for Neutron Research (NCNR) is seeking expressions 
of interest in a possible position in inelastic neutron scattering.  
A recent Ph.D. in experimental Materials Physics, Materials Science, 
Chemistry, Biophysics, or Materials Engineering with experience in 
neutron, x-ray, Raman, IR, or NMR techniques is sought to share the 
responsibilities associated with the commissioning and operation of 
the various inelastic neutron scattering instruments at the NCNR.  
These responsibilities include assisting visiting researchers in 
conducting experiments and reducing data, instrument testing and 
calibration, and software development.  Successful candidates would 
also have time to conduct independent or collaborative research.  
Appointments will be for several years.  Salary would be in the 
range from $42,000 to $50,000 depending on qualifications and 
experience.
