Within the EU-Project 'NMI3/R3 Neutron Optics' the Laboratory for Neutron
Scattering (ETH Zurich & PSI Villigen) offers a

**************  Postdoctoral Position  *****************

in the field of Multilayer Based Neutron Optics.

Your tasks: 
-----------
Development of laterally graded multilayers in analogy to focusing x-ray
optics

Development of an algorithm for the design of supermirrors paying respect to
rough or blured interfaces

Co-operation with the project partners in Munich, Berlin, Saclay, Budapest
and Turin

Second beam line scientist at the test neutron diffractometer Morpheus at
SINQ.

Your profile: 
-------------
You are a graduated research scientist with a PhD in physics or chemistry
with some years of research experience in the field of neutron or X-ray
scattering. 

You preferably have experience with solid state interfaces or thin layers
and some practical knowledge of computing.

You are willing to work in a team and to communicate (establishing a
professional relationship with both staff and guest scientists) as well as
to work flexible hours.
