DATA ANALYSIS DEVELOPERS (3 Roles)
We seek a number of Data Analysis Programmers to support our research team. The role will initially be a 2 year contract with the possibility of extension.
To be successful, you will need to have:
* Degree or higher in a relevant discipline such as Computing, Physics or Mathematics
* Experience in Data Analysis and Visualisation
* Experience in design and coding of algorithms
* Graphical User Interface design and experience
* Knowledge of agile methods and project management principles as applied to the software industry
OPERATIONS MANAGER
You're invited to be part of one of Australia's foremost scientific research and development organisations, focused on delivering the benefits of nuclear science to the Australian community. The Bragg Institute is Australia's leading Neutron Scattering and
Synchrotron Radiation group and currently employs ~45 ANSTO staff, and operates a substantial postdoctoral, graduate student and visitor program. Our facilities include 8 new state of the art neutron scattering and 2 new in-house X-ray instruments.
We are seeking an Operations Manager to co-ordinate all neutron beam operational activities in the Neutron Guide Hall and Reactor Beam Hall at the OPAL reactor, including related laboratory and user support facilities. This will involve working with a
team of scientists, engineers, technicians, administrative support, and user office and database specialists.
You will have at least a M.Sc. in condensed-matter physics, chemistry, materials science or a related area, with experience in experimental research and computing/IT including databases. We are also looking for excellent interpersonal and communication
skills, customer focus and demonstrated ability to work both independently and in teams. Experience in managing major projects is essential. Experience at a major neutron scattering or x-ray synchrotron user facility will be an advantage. The role will
initially be a 3 year contract with the possibility of extension.
