Post-Doctoral Position in Magnetism in Thin Films and Nanostructures
Argonne National Laboratory
The Neutron and X-ray Scattering Group of the Materials Science Division
at Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) is inviting applications for a
postdoctoral research fellow to study magnetism in thin films and
nanostructures using scattering techniques. Research areas of interest
are the study of exchange bias, exchange coupling, magnetic phase
transitions in magnetic thin films, magnetization reversal processes,
and the magnetic behavior of nanopatterned magnetic films. The POSYI
polarized reflectometer at Intense Pulsed Neutron Source at ANL, will be
the primary tool for studying these systems.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. Degree, awarded within the last 3 years,
in physics, materials science, or in a similar discipline and have
experience in magnetism, preferable with thin films or nanostructures.
Desirable, but not essential, is experience with scattering techniques.
Postdoctoral positions at Argonne are for one year increments, renewable
up to three years.
Argonne National Laboratory is an equal opportunity employer, and we
value diversity in our workforce. Interested candidates should submit a
curriculum vitae, with contact information for three references, and a
possible statement of research interests to:
