The Ames Laboratory Neutron Scattering Group at Iowa State University has
an opening for a postdoctoral associate who will be primarily involved in
neutron scattering studies of magnetic materials (low-dimensional magnetic
systems, magneto-caloric materials, magneto-electric effect materials,
magnetic molecules and others). The group operates the HB1A beam-line at
the High Flux Isotope Reactor (HFIR) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and
is also directly involved in projects at the upcoming Spallation Neutron
Source (SNS). Members of the group also use the APS 6-ID sector, for a
variety of X-ray investigations of magnetic and soft condensed matter
materials. Ph. D. in physics is required for the position. Experience
in neutron scattering techniques is desirable, but not
necessary. Interested candidates should submit a CV with a publication
list and two or three references to: Rebecca Shivvers, 109 Zaffarano Hall,
Iowa State University, Ames, IA 50011 or by e-mail to
shivvers at cmpgroup.ameslab.gov
