_The NIST Center for Neutron Research (NCNR) is seeking candidates for a 
position as an Instrument Scientist for the NG-7 horizontal 
reflectometer.  The position is in the Surface and Interface Science 
team which supervises a suite of neutron reflectometers. A doctorate in  
chemistry, physics or a materials science related discipline is 
required.  Experience in neutron or x-ray reflectometry is desirable but 
not essential.  The incumbent is expected to assist scientific users on 
the NG-7 reflectometer, contribute to the running of the facility and 
planning for future instrument upgrades, as well as perform their own 
independent research taking advantage of the wide range of neutron 
instrumentation available at the NCNR.   Appointment will initially be 
for two years with the possibility of extension for up to two additional 
years. Salary is in the range from $54,000 to $62,000 depending on 
qualifications and experience.
