[Neutron] Postdoc position at HMI

We invite applications for a postdoctoral position at the Berlin Neutron 
Scattering Center BENSC of the Hahn-Meitner-Institut Berlin. The 
Hahn-Meitner-Institut is a German National Laboratory and a member of 
the Hermann von Helmholtz Association of National Research Centres (HGF) 
and has about 600 employees. It hosts the Berlin Neutron Scattering 
Center (BENSC) (http://www.hmi.de/bensc/), a user facility open to 
scientists from all over the world. To probe the structure and dynamics 
of condensed matter, BENSC provides the national and international 
research community with state-of-the-art neutron scattering equipment 
and expertise. 30% of the beam time at BENSC is reserved for in-house 
research.

This position is open to post-doctoral candidates who hold a Ph.D. 
degree in physics or related disciplines and have a strong research 
interest in neutron optical components for small angle scattering (SANS) 
ultra-small angle scattering (USANS) instruments and refelctometry 
(ToF). The successful candidate will participate in the installation of 
a refelctometer. He/she will also conduct his/her own research program 
in the area of ultra thin layer systems and interfaces.

Experience with the operation and development of neutron scattering 
instruments and software development are required, as well as knowledge 
in the area of neutron and X-ray scattering and of computer aided 
simulation methods (in particular Monte Carlo simulations) are required.

The appointment is for 3 years
