REMINDER: Neutron Scattering Call for Proposals for HFIR and SNS Ends
January 28, 2008
Oak Ridge National Laboratory is accepting proposals for experiments at
both the High Flux Isotope Reactor (HFIR) and the Spallation Neutron
Source (SNS). This call includes the following nine instruments:
HFIR instruments
* Ames Laboratory Triple Axis (HB-1A)
* Triple-Axis Spectrometer (HB-1)
* Residual Stress (HB-2B)
* Triple-Axis Spectrometer (HB-3)
* SANS (CG-2)
* Bio-SANS (CG-3)
SNS instruments
* Backscattering Spectrometer (BL-2)
* Magnetism Reflectometer (BL-4A)
* Liquids Reflectometer (BL-4B)
This call covers the experimental period at HFIR and SNS beginning March
2008 through August 2008; it will be open until 11:59 p.m. ET, Monday,
January 28, 2008. For details concerning proposal submission and
instrument capabilities, please visit our website at
http://neutrons.ornl.gov <http://neutrons.ornl.gov/> .
All proposals will be reviewed for feasibility, safety, and the
potential for high impact science. Users of approved experiments must
complete access and training requirements prior to beginning their
experiments. Please contact neutronusers at ornl.gov
<mailto:neutronusers at ornl.gov> or call Judy Trimble, Neutron
Scattering Science User Office, at 865-241-3675 if you have any
questions. Both HFIR and SNS are user facilities funded by the U.S.
Department of Energy Office of Science.
