The Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL), situated in Grenoble, France, is
Europe's leading research facility for fundamental research using
neutrons. The ILL operates the brightest neutron source in the world,
reliably delivering intense neutron beams to 40 unique scientific
instruments. The Institute welcomes more than 2000 visiting scientists
per year to carry out world-class research in solid-state physics,
crystallography, soft matter, biology, chemistry and fundamental physics.
The Projects and Techniques Division, which is responsible for the
development of the ILL's instruments and for technical support,
currently has a vacancy for an:
*R&D ENGINEER *- 18 to 24 month fixed-term contract - m/f -

and the related neutron guides which transport and filter neutrons up to
each diffractometer. You**will report directly to the Head of the SMAE*. ***
Within the framework of the European project CRISP («Cluster of Research
Infrastructures for Synergies in Physics»: http://www.crisp-fp7.eu) and
in collaboration with the European Spallation Source (ESS) based in
Sweden, you will contribute to the scientific, technological and
economic evaluation of new concepts related to neutron delivery systems
and their implementation.

delivery systems.
AT THE IMPLEMENTATION LEVEL: **
- Identification and validation of an industrial structure for the
implementation of the technology chosen-
Production of neutron guides based on the new technology (metallic guides).
