Dear Colleagues, dear Students,
15 February, 2019, the deadline for application to participate CETS2019,
the
13th CENTRAL EUROPEAN TRAINING SCHOOL ON NEUTRON TECHNIQUES
to be held 5-10 May, 2019 in the Budapest Neutron Centre, Hungary, is
fast
approaching.
Please register and apply for participation at http://www.bnc.hu/cets.
The Central European Training Schools on Neutron Techniques are aimed at
master and PhD students, post-docs as well as young researchers who have
little or no experience in neutron techniques but are interested in
using
them in their research projects. Following the introductory lectures on
theory and on the different neutron techniques by local experts (two and
a
half days), participants may choose five of the BNC instruments (listed
below) to perform three hour hands-on practices under the tuition of the
instrument scientists.
CETS2019 runs Sunday through Friday and accepts 25 students.
Participants
will have the chance to display a poster and to give a (5 min. 3 slide)
flash presentation to highlight their research project described in the
poster.
The preliminary program is available at: http://www.bnc.hu/cets.
Thanks to institutional support, no registration fee will be charged. A
few
travel grants will be available for students from universities and
institutes of EU and EU-associated countries.
Instruments to perform hands-on practice:
SANS-YS [1] - Small Angle Neutron Scattering
GINA [2] - Neutron reflectometry
MTEST [3] / PSD [4] / TOF-ND [5] - Neutron diffraction
PGAA [6] - Prompt Gamma Activation Analysis
RAD [7] / NIPS [8] / NORMA [9] - Neutron imaging
Please distribute the above information and the CETS2019 flyer
(https://www.kfki.hu/cets/Anyagok/CETS2019%20poster.pdf)
