For the Laboratory of Scientific Developments and Novel Materials, we are looking for a
Scientist in Neutron Instrumentation
Management of ESS Project (Tenure Track)
Your tasks
PSI is involved in building five neutron scattering instruments for the European Spallation Source (ESS) currently under construction in Lund, Sweden. You will manage these instrument projects at PSI coordinating with the PSI instrument teams, our partner institutions and ESS. In addition, you will develop and pursue an independent and ambitious research program preferably in the field of strongly correlated electron materials using extreme conditions such as high pressure, strain, and high magnetic fields.
Your profile
·         PhD degree in experimental physics or chemistry and excellent scientific record
·         Expertise in the use and development of neutron scattering instrumentation is mandatory
·         Experience in management and coordination of scientific projects
·         Excellent communication skills to work in a team-oriented interdisciplinary environment
·         Experience with high pressure and / or strain cells is desirable
