Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce that the polarized neutron school is open to applications. The school will be held from July 26 to 27, 2020 at the NIST Center for Neutron Research (NCNR) in Gaithersburg, Maryland, preceding the 13th biennial Polarized Neutrons for Condensed Matter Investigations (PNCMI) conference. The School will provide a comprehensive introduction to polarized neutrons, techniques and scientific applications. The lectures will cover basic principles of polarized neutrons, small-angle scattering, reflectometry, and diffraction/inelastic scattering. Following the lectures, hands-on experiments in small groups and the relevant data reduction process will be provided.

The school is free for all selected attendees. Accommodations, breakfast, and lunch will be provided both days.

Please note that the maximum number of participants is limited to 18 students from North America. Please submit your application by April 24, 2020.

For more information, please visit the PNCMI 2020 website: https://pncmi2020.umd.edu/school or email pncmi2020 at nist.gov<mailto:pncmi2020 at nist.gov>
