23rd National School on Neutron and X-Ray Scattering
The National School on Neutron and X-ray Scattering (NX School), hosted by Oak Ridge and Argonne National Laboratories, aims to educate graduate students in the use of major neutron and x-ray facilities. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the NX School will be held virtually from July 12-30.
This year's NX School will be three weeks in length. The first week will consist of half-day virtual lecture sessions. The lectures will include basic tutorials on the principles of scattering theory and the characteristics of the sources, as well as seminars on the application of scattering methods to a variety of scientific subjects.

The second two weeks will be full-time, consisting of lectures, data analysis tutorials, and short remote experiments at ANL's Advanced Photon Source (APS) and ORNL's Spallation Neutron Source (SNS) and High Flux Isotope Reactor (HFIR) facilities.
The NX School coordinators are ORNL's Bianca Haberl, Michael Manley and Matthias Frontzek, and Argonne's Stephan Rosenkranz, Uta Ruett and John Okasinski.
Applications for the summer 2021 NX School will be accepted from now until March 1.
