[Neutron] 2023 SHUG Neutron Scattering User Meeting

Registration is open and we are soliciting poster abstracts for the 2023 Neutron Scattering User Meeting to be held on June 6-7, 2023, at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), with workshops and tutorials held on June 5 and 8.  There is no cost to register, but advanced registration is required. Registration will close on April 3, 2023.

The main User Meeting on June 6-7 will feature six plenary addresses; eight parallel sessions including 24 Invited Speakers; a poster session and Best Poster Competition; HFIR and SNS tours; sample environment and software focused discussions; and Town Hall meetings. Focused workshops on June 5 and 8 will include the Second Target Station satellite meeting; Data processing of neutron total scattering; Magnetic structure determination from neutron diffraction data using GSAS-II; and Single crystal data processing for direct geometry chopper spectrometers.

Call for Posters: A poster session will be held on Tuesday evening, and posters will be selected from submitted abstracts. Posters are sought that represent the breadth of interests and capabilities across the SNS and HFIR user communities. Poster presenters who are graduate or undergraduate students or post-docs at the time of the presentation will also be eligible for Best Poster Competition.

Outstanding Staff Service Awards: The SHUG Executive Committee is soliciting nominations for the Outstanding Staff Service Awards, which will be presented during the SHUG town hall meeting. This award recognizes HFIR and SNS staff members who went above and beyond to support the HFIR/SNS facilities and user community.
