Dear Colleagues,
Post doc: Structural Measurements of Hydrogen-containing Materials Under Pressure
The Neutron Sciences Directorate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (in Knoxville, TN, USA) has an open position for a Postdoctoral Research Associate. ORNL is the site of two World-leading neutron sources and the goal of the project is to use these to conduct single-crystal neutron diffraction measurements of hydrogen-containing materials (including pure hydrogen and its heavy isotope deuterium) under high pressures potentially approaching 100 GPa. The resultant structural information will yield insights into quantum phenomena and molecular dissociation with the potential to have broad impact on diverse fields ranging from superconductivity to planetary science.

Many thanks,
Malcolm
