Subject: Open Experimental Postdoctoral Positions at Indiana University
Bloomington

The Physics Department at Indiana University Bloomington invites
applications for a postdoctoral fellow to support experimental studies of
quantum liquids confined to one-dimension. The successful candidate will
be expected to contribute significantly to the planning, execution and
analysis of neutron scattering studies of confined helium.

This position offers a collaborative opportunity, with the fellow being
based primarily at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. The candidate
will conduct neutron scattering studies at the Spallation Neutron Source,
located at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, utilizing cutting-edge techniques
to explore confined quantum systems. The appointment could begin as early
as December 1, 2024, and is initially for one year, with the possibility of
renewal for an additional year based on performance.

A Ph.D. in experimental condensed matter physics is required by time of
appointment. Experience with neutron scattering and/or numerical
simulations is an advantage but not a necessity. Applications, including a
CV, a statement of research interests, and three letters of reference,
should be submitted through the application portal located at:

https://indiana.peopleadmin.com/postings/26150

Review of applications will begin on November 15, 2024 and will continue
until the position is filled. The position is annually renewable assuming
satisfactory performance. Questions about the position can be directed to
Paul Sokol (pesokol at indiana.edu).

The College of Arts and Sciences is committed to building and supporting a
diverse, inclusive, and equitable community of students and scholars.
