Postdoctoral Position in Theoretical Quantum Liquids at Indiana University

The Physics Department at Indiana University Bloomington invites
applications for a postdoctoral research fellowship in theoretical
condensed matter physics, with a focus on quantum liquids in
one-dimensional systems. The successful candidate will contribute to
advanced theoretical simulations of these systems, collaborating closely
with leading experimental experts in the field.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work with Professor Adrian Del
Maestro’s research group at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where
the candidate will be primarily based. The appointment can begin as early
as December 1, 2024, and is initially for one year, with the possibility of
renewal for an additional year based on performance.

A Ph.D. in theoretical condensed matter physics is required by time of
appointment. The proposed research will leverage multiple computational
many-body techniques (including classical and quantum Monte Carlo,
molecular dynamics, and ab initio methods) and experience with high
performance computation will be strongly advantageous. Applications,
including a CV, a statement of research interests, and three letters of
reference, should be submitted through the application portal located at:

https://indiana.peopleadmin.com/postings/26149

Review of applications will begin on November 15, 2024 and will continue
until the position is filled. The position is annually renewable assuming
satisfactory performance. Questions about the position can be directed to
Paul Sokol (pesokol at indiana.edu).

The College of Arts and Sciences is committed to building and supporting a
diverse, inclusive, and equitable community of students and scholars.
