[Neutron] SKADI at ESS Early Science Workshop

16-18 November

as a satellite event to the ILL/ESS User Meeting and hope to meet you there.

As ESS prepares to start operation, it is a good moment to consider how this new neutron source can best be used. For that, the SKADI team would like to invite you to the SKADI Early Science workshop.

It will be a lunch-to-lunch event with different sections, where you can decide which flavour of science workshop you want to attend to:

16-17 Nov:         Soft Matter, Materials and Biology
17 Nov:               Lunch Session on GISANS
17-18 Nov:         Hard Matter, Magnetic Materials, Spin Phenomena, Correlated Systems and Geology

In this workshop, we will provide an overview of the instrument capabilities during facility startup, expected performance as a function of facility start-up, key dates, and currently planned sample environment and data analysis abilities.

The main focus of the workshop will then be to brainstorm early science experiments within the different scientific areas. Our aim is to identify

the necessary infrastructure (sample environments, utilities, data analysis, etc) in order to take best advantage of the first beam at the ESS.
