Dear colleagues,
Until next Monday (16 February), you still have the chance to submit your abstract<https://indico.frm2.tum.de/event/570/abstracts/> for the NHS 2026!
Early bird registration<https://www.events.tum.de/frontend/index.php?page_id=6764> is also still possible.
The NHS 2026 – International Conference on Neutrons in Heritage Science will take place in Munich from 19 to 22 May 2026. Several internationally renowned experts have already confirmed their participation as keynote speakers<https://indico.frm2.tum.de/event/570/page/502-keynote-speakers> and we are looking forward to welcoming you in Munich as well. Abstract submission and all other information regarding the conference can be accessed here<https://indico.frm2.tum.de/event/570/>.
The conference brings together scientists from the field of heritage studies and large scale facilities to initiate discussion and develop ideas for common projects. A key intention is to understand the perspective of the heritage community. Although the conference will address and highlight the use of neutrons in cultural and archaeological sciences – especially possible applications –, complementary methods in this field are equally welcome. Especially as the user community is keen to explore how neutron-based techniques compare with similar approaches utilizing complementary contrasts.
The conference program will offer four intense days packed with keynote speeches, contributed talks, a poster session, as well as optional tours through the state collection, an excursion to the Munich Residence<https://indico.frm2.tum.de/event/570/page/509-excursion-and-conference-dinner> and a conference dinner in the historic city center.
In connection with the conference, a one-day introduction course (18 May 2026) for the use of neutrons in heritage research at MLZ is available for interested scientists, which is free but requires registration. Prior to this course, we will offer the possibility for test measurements with neutrons in cooperation with the Czech Technical University (CTU).
Best wishes,
the organizers
