Postdoctoral Position: Glass, Liquid and Amorphous Materials Diffractometer
(IPNS)
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the Intense Pulsed
Neutron Source (IPNS) Division at Argonne. Responsibilities will include
performing experiments at the Glass, Liquid and Amorphous Materials
Diffractometer (GLAD), a facility at present unique in the US for measuring
the
structures of disordered materials with neutron diffraction, in addition to
guiding outside users in the planning, performance and analysis of
experiments
on GLAD. The individual selected for this position will also have the
opportunity for experimental research in collaboration with the Disordered
Materials program in the Materials Science Division, which could include
x-ray
diffraction at the Advanced Photon Source and electrical transport
and optical property measurements in the laboratory as well as neutron
diffraction and inelastic scattering experiments at IPNS. Experience in
neutron and/or x-ray diffraction is desirable. Women and minorities are
especially encouraged to apply.
