Postdoctoral Research Associate Position in Grazing Incidence Small
Angle X-ray Scattering at Argonne National Laboratory
A post-doctoral research associate position is immediately available to
participate in a research team for developing an integrated facility for
Grazing Incidence Small angle X-ray Scattering at sector 12-ID beam line
at the Advanced Photon Source at Argonne National Laboratory. GISAXS at
synchrotrons is an extremely powerful technique for the characterization
of 3D nanostructure in the thin films.
Applications are invited from highly motivated individuals with a Ph.D.
in materials science, materials engineering, physics, or a related field
with strong interest in synchrotron x-ray instrumentation. Successful
candidate will join an interdisciplinary team developing integrated
tools for research on nanomaterials and nanotechnology. Strong written
and oral communication skills and the desire to work in a team
environment on scientifically challenging problems are required. The
candidate will be encouraged to develop his/her own independent and
collaborative research by taking advantage of facilities such as APS,
IPNS and the Center for Nanoscale Materials <http://nano.anl.gov/> at
Argonne.
Interested candidates should submit a curriculum vitae, a brief
description of research interest possible statement of research
interests, and contact information for three referees via the Argonne
career web site at http://www.anl.gov <http://www.anl.gov/> under
postdoctoral openings for requisition number IPNSPT PNS.
Technical inquiries concerning this position should be addressed to P.
Thiyagarajan (thiyaga at anl.gov <mailto:thiyaga at anl.gov> ). For more
information about IPNS, see http://www.pns.anl.gov/
