Dear friends and colleagues,
I am pleased to announce
"NINMACH 2013 - Neutron Imaging and Neutron Methods in Archaeology and
Cultural Heritage Research"
to be held at FRM II, TU Muenchen, Garching, Germany, on Sept 9-12, 2013,
under the auspices of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Details are on
http://www.frm2.tum.de/aktuelles/veranstaltungen/ninmach-2013/index.html
This conference is a new format, explicitely designed to make contacts
with archaeologists and museum people, and to further the use of neutron
methods in cultural heritage research. It addresses both neutron
researches with experience in neutron methods as well as complete
newcomers from the
museum and archaeology side who wish to get an overview about neutron
methods available for their work, but also scientists from small reactors
where neutron imaging can be put to a new use in cultural heritage
research.
The main focus is imaging methods, but also activation analysis and
scattering methods and some comparisons to X-rays.
Please pass this mail on to anyone who might be interested, and
PLEASE pre-register your interest on the web site as early as possible.
Since this conference is a world's first, we do not know how many
participants to expect, and we urgently need your help to get a first
estimate.
The conference will be organised as non-profit, the fees only covering
local costs such as meals.
Full registration will open within the next two weeks, then with
information about catering fees and hotels.
For questions, please reply to ninmach2013 at frm2.tum.de
Looking forward to welcoming you in Garching,
Burkhard Schillinger
