The Technische Universität München operates the
Forschungs-Neutronenquelle Heinz Maier-Leibnitz (FRM II) in Garching
which is one of the leading neutron sources world wide.
We invite applications for a
Scientist (Postdoc)
to complement our Neutron Optics Group.
With numerical simulations using neutron ray tracing software packages
you support the design of new instruments and the optimisation and
further extension of existing instruments at the FRM II and for the
future neutron spallation source ESS. In cooperation with instrument
scientists you encode physical properties of neutron optical components
as modules for the software packages McStas and / or Vitess. Further you
administer and consolidate existing source codes and assist in the state
of the art application of these methods.
Experience in scattering methods and the field of numerical simulation
are desirable. Knowledge of German language is requested.
The appointment will initially be limited to three years with the
possibility of extension. The Technische Universität München is an equal
opportunity employer. Therefore women are especially encouraged to
apply. Handicapped persons having an equivalent experience will be
preferred.
Further information about the offered position can be obtained from Dr.
Peter Link (peter.link at frm2.tum.de).
Applicants should send a letter of interest describing relevant
experience, including a full curriculum vitae and a publication list to:
