[Neutron] availabble PostDoc position on cold TAS PANDA / TU Dresden

The Department of Physics, Institute of Solid State Physics, Junior
Professorship in Neutron Spectroscopy of Condensed Matter offers within
the framework of a BMBF project at the earliest possible date a fixed-term
position as
Postdoc in Experimental Solid State Physics (E 13 TV-L)
related to the development of the triple-axis neutron spectrometer PANDA
at the Maier-Leibnitz Zentrum in Garching/Munich:

The position is limited until 30.06.2015 with the possibility of extension
(The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts
Act [Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG]). The employment will
take place in Garching near Munich.

Tasks: The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of
a new multianalyzer/multidetector module of the PANDA spectrometer. He or
she will also take part in a number of ongoing scientific projects in the
field of highly correlated electron systems with ample possibilities for
independent research.

Requirements: PhD degree in condensed matter physics, material science, or
equivalent; significant experience performing experimental research at
large-scale facilities using scattering methods (neutron or x-ray
scattering); detailed understanding of the neutron-scattering
instrumentation; ability to think innovatively and to work as a member of
a team and independently; as well as self-motivation; perfect command of
English for publishing high-quality research articles and successful
communication with international collaboration partners.
