Purpose
The Neutron Sciences Directorate (NScD) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) operates the High Flux Isotope Reactor
(HFIR), the United States' highest flux reactor based neutron source, and the Spallation Neutron Source (SNS), the world's
most intense pulsed accelerator based neutron source. Together these facilities operate 30 instruments for neutron scattering
research, each year carrying out in excess of 1,000 experiments in the physical, chemical, materials, biological and medical
sciences. To learn more about Neutron Sciences at ORNL go to: http://neutrons.ornl.gov.
Purpose:

The Biology and Soft Matter Division (BSMD) in the Neutron Sciences Directorate invites applications for a Postdoctoral
Research Associate. This position will consist of a mix of protein expression, purification and crystallization followed by X-ray
and neutron data collection and refinement. Research will focus on the role of class A B-lactamase enzymes in antibiotic
resistance and the study of proteins involved in ion transportation.

Major Duties/Responsibilities
* Reports to the MaNDi Lead Instrument Scientist
* Will be part of the Energy and Environment groups and will be expected to take part in all group activities, to include
seminars and weekly meetings.
* Publish multiple scientific papers on collaborative and independent research
