Our apologies for any cross-posting!
This notice announces the 2nd cyber-enabled collaborative graduate education course "Neutrons in Soft Matter Science: Complex Materials on Mesoscopic Scales" (NSMS). The course will be taught in Fall semester 2013 by expert scientists and professors from sixteen contributing institutions internationally. The course is coordinated at Oak Ridge National Laboratory's (ORNL) Neutron Sciences Directorate (NScD) and the University of Tennessee-ORNL Joint Institute for Neutron Sciences (JINS).
Multi-site interactive lecture sessions will be delivered live online. They are simultaneously recorded and made freely available subsequently via streaming from the NSMS course resources page at ORNL, which will also contain various other materials associated with the course. To participate in the course, all you need to do is go to either of the following links and follow the registration instructions therein. Once you have registered, you can enter the course resources page via the login button.

Registration is free to everyone interested in the subject areas. We append the note here that "registration" does not mean actual credit in a formal sense but rather is a means to gain access to the material of the course and for us to keep track of the utilization of the course resources page.
Graduate students can enroll and participate for credit within their program if the course is set up and formally acknowledged within the graduate program at the given institution. We also look forward to hearing from you if your Department is interested in formal participation along these lines.
We hope this collaborative multi-institutional initiative will be of interest and value for the broader soft matter scattering community.
With thanks from the NSMS organizing team,
Sow-Hsin Chen, Massachusetts Institute of Technology

Sunil Sinha, University of California, San Diego
